Anti-stick coating technology for barbecue tableware

The anti-stick coating technology for barbecue tableware mainly involves various materials and processes. The following are some key points of the anti-stick coating technology:

First, common anti-stick coating materials

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) coating

Feature: PTFE coating, also known as Teflon coating, has extremely strong non-stickiness and high-temperature resistance, with a maximum service temperature of 260℃. This coating is commonly found in various kitchenware, such as frying pans and baking trays. However, it may fall off after long-term use, and harmful substances will be released when heated above 260℃. Therefore, it should not be dry-fried, as the temperature of fried food is very likely to exceed this limit.

Application: Suitable for barbecue tableware that requires high-temperature cooking and has a high demand for non-stickiness.

Ceramic coating

Feature: Ceramic coating is a new type of environmentally friendly material with high appearance quality, safety and non-toxicity, and can withstand high temperatures up to 450℃. It is the achievement of nano-silica technology, with silica as its main component. It is a natural inorganic product, and the fineness of its particles can reach the nanometer level. However, the non-stickiness and durability of ceramic coatings are slightly inferior to those of PTFE coatings.

Application: Suitable for barbecue tableware that emphasizes health and environmental protection, especially for scenarios where the requirement for non-stickiness is not particularly high, but the tableware is expected to be safer and more durable.

Silicone resin coating

Characteristics: Silicone resin coating is a coating based on silicone compounds, featuring excellent non-stick properties and heat resistance. It can withstand high temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius without decomposing or releasing harmful substances. It also has a certain degree of flexibility, is not prone to cracking or peeling, and contains no toxic or harmful substances, posing no harm to the human body or the environment. However, the wear resistance of silicone resin is average. It may wear out under frequent use and is relatively expensive.

Application: Suitable for baking utensils such as baking trays, as well as kitchenware that requires high-temperature resistance and non-stick properties, such as baking brushes, spatulas and spatulas, etc. In barbecue tableware, silicone resin coating can also be used for components that require high-temperature cooking and have certain requirements for non-stickiness.

Second, anti-stick coating process

Spraying process

The spraying process will evenly apply the liquid non-stick paint on the surface of the treated tableware. When spraying, the coating will evenly cover the entire surface to ensure that every part is well protected. After the spraying is completed, the tableware needs to be placed in a high-temperature oven for curing, allowing the coating to undergo a chemical reaction at high temperatures and harden into a strong protective layer to ensure the durability of the non-stick effect. The temperature and time for curing need to be strictly controlled.

Surface treatment process

Before spraying the non-stick coating, the surface of the tableware needs to be cleaned to remove any possible residual dust, grease and other impurities. This step is extremely crucial because if there is dirt or grease on the surface, the coating cannot fully adhere to the metal surface, affecting the non-stick effect and the durability of the coating. In addition, surface conditioning and phosphating treatment may also be carried out. Surface conditioning is to provide rust protection for tableware and improve the quality and efficiency of phosphating at the same time. Phosphating treatment forms a protective film on the surface of tableware through a chemical reaction, enhancing the adhesion of the non-stick coating and preventing it from easily peeling or falling off.
